Taburet — [Romanian word for stool] — is a sculptural ceramic stool inspired by the vernacular furniture in my grandmother’s house: old, slightly wonky objects that fascinated me as a child. Each curve pushes the clay to its limits, nearly collapsing under its own weight before I quickly dry it to capture the motion and fluidity of the raw clay.
The stool is handmade and part of a limited collection of sculptural ceramic furniture and lighting.
